Recruiting top talent and leveraging the expertise of our Veterans

FUNDS WILL BE DONATED TO MAKE CARE PACKAGES FOR A TROOP IN AFGHANISTAN ***
We will also have a special tribute to John Guzman.
ESGR Employer Support if the Guard and Reserve will be in attendance to have us help in a letter writing project and providing employers with a tool kit to help in hiring vets.
This afternoon event will offer a fun twist on the traditional BAHRMA meetings. We will have our dedicated 1 hour of training and then have a happy hour social with appetizers after the speakers. Feel free to dress down and let loose!
Having served and defended our nation, veterans are well-trained, highly skilled, and will add value to any company. But today’s’ veterans face unique challenges. As of October of 2011, over 850,000 veterans were unemployed and the jobless rate for post 9/11 veterans was 12.1 percent. And as we end the war in Iraq and wind down the war in Afghanistan, over one million service members are projected to leave the military between 2011 and 2016. Accordingly, there is more work to do to ensure these men and women can find jobs at home when they return.

Willie French – Director of Talent Acquisition, The Methodist Hospital System Willie French is a strategic human resources leader with nearly twenty years of progressive generalist and specialist experience in the areas of staffing and recruitment, training and career development, compensation analysis, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, HRIS administration, and diversity /inclusion management, among others within industries ranging from telecommunications, financial services, and currently health care. |
In his current role as Director of Talent Acquisition for The Methodist Hospital System, Mr. French develops system strategies to proactively meet the staffing and recruitment needs of various client groups within each of the Methodist entity hospitals. He possess a consistent record of establishing and implementing creative strategies, building, maintaining key internal and external relationships and leading management development and is a strong contributor in creating a motivated and engaged workforce.
Mr. French earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Morehouse College located in Atlanta, Georgia and a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
Mr. French has also achieved a Senior Professional Human Resources certification (SPHR) as well as a Global Professional Human Resources certification (GPHR) and is a member of several professional organizations including The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), and the National Association of Health Care Recruiters (NAHCR).
