Board Meetings 2011
The January 28, 2011 BAHRMA Board meeting began at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast at the NASA Road Hilton. The business meeting began at 8:00 a.m. with 9 Board members and 4 Volunteers present. Volunteers in attendance: Kim Rauch- Programs, Nancy Cross- Annual Conference, Angela Ducek- Internet Liaison and Mary Jane Nussbaumer- Scholarship.
- Annual Conference:
Wanda provided a draft of the agenda for the 2011 Annual Conference. There are still openings for vendors. Wanda will send out an email with a list of all the current vendors. She asked that we reach out to industry contacts that are not already represented to gauge interest in attending as a vendor. Vendor/Exhibitor fees are $200 ($150 registration + $50 table fee) with each additional company representative $75. Attendees will receive tickets for the prize drawings by asking the vendors questions about their business. Wanda has ordered the bags for the Conference. At this time the total of 75 bags will include: pen and pad of paper, a copy of Dayna Steel’s book, and a copy of the agenda.
The grand prize for the Annual Conference will be a Nook Reader. Other prize ideas include tickets to Schlitterbahn, Rodeo Tickets and an IPod Touch.
- Treasurer:
Carolyn reported that our current balance as of January 27, 2011 was $14,322.52. There are no liabilities outstanding at this time.
- Discussion:
- Mike Kuhn will attend the luncheon on February 3, 2011 to swear in the Board of Directors for 2011.

Action Items:

- Need to form a Scholarship Committee to draft application, work with colleges, and monitor applications and distributions for the four BAHRMA Scholarships.
- Brian Haynes, Paula Cross, Carolyn Lowe, Rebecca Nutt and Kelly Neason will meet at BAHRMA’s bank to change/obtain authorization for check signing. BOA BAHRMA account holders with signature authority for 2010 were Kelly Neason- President, Paula Cross- President Elect, Carolyn Lowe- Treasurer. Account holders with signature authority for 2011 will be Paula Cross- President, Rebecca Nutt- President Elect, and Brian Haynes- Treasurer.
- Board to continue to solicit door prizes and raffle gifts for the conference drawings.
- Board to reach out to networks for additional vendor participants.
- Wanda to send out current vendor/industry participants to the Board.
- Board members to divide up the list of BAHRMA members to place reminder calls for the Annual Conference.
- The 2011 BAHRMA Board of Directors needs to go to the website and update their biographies before the luncheon on Thursday, February 3.
- Next BAHRMA Board meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 18, 2011, at 7:30 a.m. at the NASA Road Hilton. This change in schedule is to allow an additional week for conference preparation.
- Next BAHRMA luncheon meeting will be Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Bay Oaks Country Club. The speaker will be Gail Sargeant

1. Opening: The January 7, 2011 BAHRMA Board meeting began at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast at the NASA Road Hilton. The business meeting began at 8:00 a.m. with 9 Board members and 4 Volunteers present. Kim Rauch, Nancy Cross, Rhonda Smith and Frank Kauffman attended the meeting and offered to serve on committees for the 2011 term.
2. President: Paula started the meeting by asking the attendees to introduce themselves and offer a brief overview of their background. She then reviewed the BAHRMA Board and Committee Positions that were open for the current year. Positions included: VP of Programs, Committee Chair/Cashier for Programs, Annual Conference Committee, Community Outreach Committee, Scholarship Committee, and Internet Liaison Committee.
3. Treasurer: Carolyn reported that our balance as of January 6, 2011 was $13,339.82. There are no liabilities outstanding at this time.
4. Discussion: a. VP of Programs- Melanie Shrimplin accepted to position of VP Programs. Paula described the requirements of the position and shared that the Board will help her with securing speakers.
Community Outreach Committee- Rhonda Smith

Annual Conference- Discussion around BAHRMA’s cost for the Conference. Wanda proposed $150 for Members and $185 for non Members. We also discussed setting the Exhibitor Fee at $150 + $50 table fee for a total of $200.
There is room for 12 vendors. Attendees will receive tickets for the prize drawings by asking the vendors questions about their business. Wanda has ordered the bags for the Conference. The bags are sponsored by Benefits and Compensation Specialists
Location of monthly meeting- discussion to move the meetings from Bay Area Country Club to Cullen’s Restaurant. The cost of the luncheon will increase $5 to $25. Reasons for relocating the meeting- BAHRMA will receive better service (Bay Oaks caters to their members primarily, BAHRMA secondarily), the food quality is better, and the location will be more convenient for many of our members.
5. Motions:
Motion was made to set the Annual Conference Fee for $150 for Members, $185 for Non-Members, and $200 total for Exhibitors (meaning table costs $50). The vote was made and approved.
Motion was made to move the monthly luncheon meetings from Bay Oaks Country Club to Cullen’s Restaurant, (effective April 2011) with a new monthly luncheon fee of $25. The vote was made and approved.
6. Action Items:
Next BAHRMA luncheon meeting will be Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Bay Oaks Country Club. The speaker will be Gail Sargeant.
